HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. SEUSS!

We celebrated Theodor Seuss Geisel's (aka Dr. Seuss') birthday in style with a variety of Seuss activities.

I read his first published book to the class, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street. The children then had to draw something that they saw that morning on the way to school. Our display is in the hall right outside our classroom, entitled, And to Think That I Saw It on Huston Ave! Quite a variety of sights!

The students read their choice of a Dr. Seuss book and got to make their own "Cat in the Hat".
To the Dr. Seuss displays in our classroom, we added a write-up of their favorite Dr. Seuss story, along with adjectives to describe his books.

We had three guest readers on Dr. Seuss Day, and a big thank you goes out to Mrs. Hurrelbrink, Mrs. Kurtzhals, and Mr. Rhoads. The books they read were enjoyed by all!

The day culminated with a Dr. Seuss school-wide assembly, with every grade sharing a Dr. Seuss song or book...and to top it all off a special appearance by the Cat in the Hat himself!
